History

Not much is known about Strange Seer. He just...appeared in the halls of the Archanist Guild one day, fresh off a ferry docked in Limsa Lominsa, they presumed. Seer only gave his name, strange as it was, and asked to speak with the leader of the guild. From there it was almost as if he were a ghost, only noticed when you sought him out. This was especially since he only seemed to be in the guild at night, studying in the wee hours if the morning when the halls were empty.But, the few mages who did know him would say Seer was a veracious student, diving head first into his studies with wild abandon. It seemed to be the only way you could get a word out of him--rambles about stars, magic, maps, and the sea. Any other questions were met with detached politeness, simple answers that did little to reveal much about himself. It was never clear whether this was because Seer was hiding something, or if he was simply bored by other topics. Even his accomplishments seemed to spread only through whispered rumor: a merchant saved here, a monster slain there, yet another successful mission.Regardless, his aloof nature did well to allow Seer the privacy he seemed to seek. It would be a miracle if anyone could manage to break down those walls...

Plot Hooks

  • Wonderlust - Seer loves to travel and listen to stories of great adventure and far off places. A great way to catch his interest is a job contract or a promise of good food and story!

  • Ever Searching - A long time ago, Seer lost someone dear to him. So now, Seer spends what little free time he has looking for them. Perhaps your OC can help in the hunt, or at least help Seer find a clue.

  • Is there a Doctor in the House? - Despite the many people Seer has lost, he is a Healer at heart. Perhaps your OC has been gravely wounded, or someone they care about is sick? No matter the ailment, Seer will never ignore a cry for help. For better, or worse.

  • Not Only In Name - Seer has been plagued with strange visions since he was a child. Now armed with a Diving Deck, the quality which once alienated him in youth now serves as a way for Seer to pass the time...or make some quick gil. Perhaps your OC would be interested in a reading?

  • Home Sweet Sharlayan - Despite his wonder lust, Seer does try to visit his family in Sharlayan every once in a blue moon. Perhaps Seer runs into your OC on one of those trips? Or perhaps they once knew each other from their classes there? Whether it be a chance meeting, or an opportunity to get caught up, it wouldn't take much to convince Seer to stick around for a chat. Perhaps even to help with some research.
